Here's a new Ted Talk that requires either empathy or active listening to understand why it works Plus my perspective on relationships

Image
In this short Ted Ed video about lifting people out of poverty  it explains in a very quick way that giving money to people at the bottom who know what the problems are can be the most beneficial but instead the wealthy or ultra wealthy rarely do this at all, they keep they money they earned by just having money to lend and are greedy most of the time.  Here's another great Ted Ed video that talks about empathy    those who think they know what''s best for someone else without ever taking their perspective or their experiences into account cannot truly empathize with that person at all which is why grandiose narcissist's have a hard time with empathy mainly because they have no active listening skills and only talk about themselves or pontificate like Celeste Headless says. To me, any relationship should be equal but at times one person may work harder than the other so it's a delicate balance but it should be as close to equal as possible.  ...

Here's the latest unbiased facts about what is going on in US politics

Image
In U.S. politics right now, the main event is the ongoing federal government shutdown, which has lasted 31 days as of today, October 31, 2025. This shutdown is close to breaking the record for the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, which is 35 days. The deadlock is causing millions of Americans to lose food stamp assistance from this weekend, and many federal employees are not receiving paychecks, struggling with basic living expenses. President Donald Trump recently called on Republican Senate lawmakers to abolish the filibuster—a Senate rule requiring 60 votes to pass most legislation—as a way to end the shutdown by enabling Republicans to pass legislation with a simple majority. Many Republicans oppose abolishing the filibuster as it is seen as an important check on majority power. Airlines and transportation officials warn that if the shutdown continues into the busy Thanksgiving holiday season, travelers could face significant delays and disruptions due to staff...

I asked the best question and here it is.....

Societies throughout history have encountered periods characterized by widespread self-centeredness or narcissism, but there is no evidence of a single individual "solving" the problem completely. Instead, whole cultures and thought leaders have responded with strategies aimed at reducing narcissistic trends. The most effective approaches usually involve intentional cultural, social, and community-based changes rather than the actions of one person. Historical and Cultural Responses Some societies with collectivistic, community-centered values (such as East Asian countries or socialist East Germany) have fostered lower levels of narcissism compared to highly individualistic, competitive societies like the United States or West Germany. These environments promote group harmony, empathy, and social responsibility as ways to counteract self-centered attitudes. For example, after German reunification, it was observed that people who grew up in collectivistic East Germany had l...
