Longevity and the possible medicines that could possibly extend our amount of healthy years

Telemerase,  it's a compound that halt the degradation of the shoestring ends on our DNA that get's worn over time due to our cells replicating and eventually causing free radicals or worse, cancer.  Imagine if your cells could replicate without mutation for your entire life...  that would reduce the age related diseases you get later on in life.

Metformin, the diabetes drug has been shown to extend the life of those with dianoses of diabetes in cases where the person lived 10 years past what the doctor predicted and Metformin lowers blood sugar mainly by telling your liver to stop making and releasing so much glucose. It also helps your body respond better to the insulin it already produces, rather than forcing the pancreas to pump out extra insulin.

Erythropoietin: no longevity benefit in someone without an appropriate anemia-related indication; excess use can be acutely dangerous.

CRISPR is a family of gene-editing tools that lets scientists target a chosen DNA sequence and change it. The most famous version, CRISPR-Cas9, works like a programmable “find this text and cut here” system for genetic code. It originated from a natural bacterial defense system against viruses.

Stem cell therapies and Plasmapheresis have been show to have a lot of promise for therapies to extend peoples lives as well and also help heal some diseases. Stem-cell science is a powerful route to treating specific diseases and repairing specific tissues.. It might someday contribute to longer health span.

In a perfect world all of these would be used ethically and fairly as possible but....

What if the world is like the world that many americans wake up to everyday and still find the hope that things will get better despite the direction it's currently heading?  How ethical is our current administration?  How ethical have large corporations been when basically they are self-monitoring?  How many companies have participated in unethical practices due to the need to constantly cut costs to increase their stock value for share holders instead of the public good?  So given that our democracy has let monopolies thrive, let scam artists go free and bailed out companies that made bad risky decisions get bailed out with the very tax dollars of the americans hard earned income just disappear does it take before we realize that someone or something is trying to push our democracy over the edge of it's breaking point in order to create something new that they think is better rather than fostering more empathy, more community, less divide, and more cooperation between people rather than fearmonger them and divide them, then make a system that is fair and treats everyone equally no matter what?

What if we live in a world where some don't care about ethics and care more about amassing wealth than the overall public welfare or making all the rules and regulations bend in their favor rather than equality or fairness and are easily lobbied or swayed with money rather than doing what is right and ethical? I hope that no one wants to find out the hard way what a world like that might be like for the overall good of humanity,... right?
