Narcissistic family's suck especially mine, here's why....

 

If anyone ever wonders why my family is the way they are or why it’s been so difficult for me to achieve anything,  it’s because I have a mother who didn’t want to take the time even when I was 16-18 to help me figure out the disorder I have called ADHD,  I had a grandmother who was too preoccupied with her own social status and married a man who had the same disorder and passed it down from generation to generation and I bet you never once did she try to help my grandfather figure out why he got so angry either because she only answers questions about herself and didn’t even notice the symptoms in her own children over their lifetimes.  I also have a father who never validated anything I have achieved, had no problem using the family business to keep his business a float in the beginning, then after 22 years sells it at the worst

 possible time, all the while I worked for the family since I was 15 years old.  My mother literally had the gas station handed to her and it’s not very hard to keep a GAS station going, it is hard to find and keep reliable employees but that is mostly due to who manages it.  And at the buccaneer, my dad was the one who did all the hiring and firing.  Towards the end he hired quite a few felons, at least 3 I can remember right off the top of my head.  So instead of pursuing my dream I helped the family in so many ways I can’t even count and they are not grateful at all, they don’t ever have anything nice to say about anyone or even each other most of the time. 

     One odd thing thou is that she had no problem keeping his last name but she is still controlling her youngest daughters life just as my mother is controlling mine.  To put it in perspective, I had 2 times the ACT score my mother did which was 12, in the 10^th grade mine was 24.  My sister never even considered going to college and I got a scholarship but due to my undiagnosed ADHD dropped out after just 6 months.  This is what happens when everyone in a family is so self centered and doesn’t want to solve a single problem because they all assume and think they are special or right but refuse to explain why or even defend their self righteousness period.
